서울 시티 챔버 오케스트라가 준비한 2008 프로젝트 “열정, 화합, 창조”는 연주자의 식지 않는 열정, 멤버들간의 테크닉적 한계를 뛰어넘은 화합 그리고 모든 연주자가 꿈꾸는 자유로움 뒤의 창조를 표현하고 구현하기 위해 준비되었습니다.
이번 프로젝트는 시티 챔버의 색깔을 잘 보여줄 수 있는 낭만, 바로크, 20세기 이후의 곡들 중 현악 합주곡을 중심으로 다양하게 구성하였습니다. 시티 챔버의 특성을 보여줄 수 있는 공연의 주제인 “열정, 화합, 창조”는 3회에 걸쳐 진행되며, 첫 프로젝트인 “열정”은 2008년 3월11일 호암아트홀에서 개최됩니다.
“열정” 편은 낭만주의 시대 작곡가들의 열정을 닮은 작품들로 구성하여 격렬한 감정을 토로하며, 자유, 열정, 얻어질 수 없는 것에 대한 끊임없는 추구 등을 보여줄 예정입니다. 낭만주의 시대의 대표적 작곡가 멘델스존의 “바이올린, 피아노, 현악 오케스트라를 위한 협주곡”은 독주자의 눈부신 기교와 관현악의 조화로움을 통해 화려한 열정을 선보입니다. 그리그의 “홀베르그 모음곡”은 섬세하고 뛰어난 선율감과 신선한 음악적 사고를 통해 따뜻한 열정을, 마지막 슈베르트의 “죽음과 소녀”는 음악에 대한 끊임없는 열정을 표현할 예정입니다.

2008 Project “Passion, Harmony, Creation” prepared by Seoul City Chamber Orchestra is to express and realize the constant passion of the players, harmony between members, and creation followed by the freedom which all the players dream about.
This project consists of romantic, baroque, and 20th century pieces for string chamber orchestra that can show the colors of the city chamber orchestra well. The project is made up of 3 concerts, and the first project “passion” is held at the Hoam Art Hall on March 11, 2008.
“Passion” is consist of the pieces that have the image of romantic composers’ passion and therefore will show the intense emotion, freedom, and constant longing for things not obtained. Concerto for violin, piano, and string orchestra by a typical romantic composer, Mendelssohn, will show passion through the harmony between brilliant soloists and orchestra. Holberg Suite by Grieg will be the warm passion through sensitive melodies and fresh musical ideas. “Death and the Maiden” by Schubert will express the composer’s constant passion for the music.
